🏆 Tournament Roundup 👑 Coello, Tapia, Fernández & González Crowned in Acapulco (🇲🇽)
Under the electric sky of Acapulco (where padel was born in 1969), Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia wrapped up 2025 exactly how they wanted, while Claudia Fernández and Bea González snagged their first Major together. 🎉 Both finals ended in straight sets.
The men’s final had real plot-twist energy: Chingotto/Galán went up 5–2 in the second before Coello & Tapia clawed back and shut things down in a tiebreak. Tapia called Coello an “animal,” and Coello threatened retirement if Tapia ever leaves him… couple goals, baby. 💞
On the women’s side, González dominated from the jump, powering through Brea/Triay despite their already-locked No. 1 ranking. Fernández picked up her second straight Mexican title 🪅, and both players said it took perfection to topple their former partners. Next up: Barcelona and the Premier Padel Finals from December 11–14 👀

🌍 International Padel Scene 👩🎤 Veteran Legend Carolina Navarro Bows Out After 31 Years (🇪🇸)
Former world No. 1 Carolina Navarro officially closed the curtain on her 31-year career after a last-16 loss at this last week’s Acapulco Premier Padel Major. At 49, she was still grinding in Major draws... 😅
After falling to the eighth seeds, Navarro walked off to a standing ovation, kissed the court, and looked more grateful than gutted. “I’ve stretched my career as far as I could,” she told Premier Padel. Talking to the International Padel Players Association, Navarro reflected on how the sport evolved from chicken-wire club courts way back in the day. And even as padel gets more physical and aggressive, she insists humility, respect, and fair play can’t fade. 🎤
💎 Soho House Joins the Padel-ification of Everything (🇬🇧)
Soho House is basically speed-running its transformation from “cool creative clubhouse” to “wellness playground for the globally jet-lagged.” CEO Andrew Carnie says members want more fitness, recovery, and longevity services, so the brand is rolling out everything from reformer pilates to padel courts. It’s an amenities arms race, folks!
Across spots like Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire and the newly stacked Barcelona Pool House, you’ll now find cold plunges, saunas, IV drips, hyperbaric oxygen pods, PEMF mats, and LED treatments. 🧊🔥 And of course, padel fits perfectly into that longevity vibe. The expansion continues in new locations like Manchester and Ibiza, where the clubs are adding exclusive gyms, contrast therapy suites, hot-spring baths, and more high-end recovery toys.
🧐 Billionaire Padel Problems in Palm Beach (🇺🇸)
Nelson Peltz (yes, the former Wendy’s chairman and father-in-law to Brooklyn Beckham) is getting dinged $250 a day for secretly dropping a full padel court onto his $372M Palm Beach estate without telling anyone. 🤷♂ The fine’s been running since October 30.
Palm Beach officials say Peltz built the court on a big concrete slab he was allowed to install… then just kinda kept going, hoping no one would notice. Locals have a history of shutting down padel proposals for being “too noisy,” so it looks like he tried the ol’ “ask for forgiveness, not permission” approach (except he didn’t ask for either lol). A special-exemption review is set for January 14, and until then the fines keep stacking.
🦅 New US Facility Openings🐊 Greater Miami Adds Another Big One (🇺🇸)
The new Set Padel Haus in Doral is officially live(ish). Courts are buzzing, and the only thing missing is the much-teased juice bar that will eventually fuel everyone’s post-match hangouts. The club features 12 panoramic courts, pro-level lighting, and a slick location just northwest of Miami. 🌴
Co-owner Jesús Meneses confirmed they quietly opened last week, even as finishing touches roll in. Beyond the courts, the space packs a full recovery zone, cold plunge, gym, stretch deck, lounge, WiFi, and studio classes.
🎯 Quick HitsThe global padel racquets & balls market is sprinting toward a massive $800M valuation by 2031, growing at a spicy 12.5% CAGR. Asia-Pacific is expected to be the next growth rocket, thanks to urbanization and disposable income rising fast. Meanwhile, Europe and North America continue leading demand with strong retail, e-commerce, and club adoption. 🌏
Uh oh… demand for padel is so high that standards are being allowed to slip. 😬 With tragic accidents, sketchy construction, and even accessibility fails, the industry is scrambling to tighten standards before the boom gets messy.
